Trapani
Trapani is the area’s administrative centre and thanks to its strategic position forms the ideal starting point from which to discover the historic, artistic, and panoramic beauty of the neighbouring area. The most important monuments, the old aristocratic palaces like Cavarretta, Riccio di Morana, San Rocco, Riccio di San Gioacchino, and Lucatelli are surely worth a visit. Then there are the churches including the cathedral, the church of Purgatorio (Purgatory) where the sculpted statues of the Mysteries are kept when not being paraded on Good Friday, and also the fourteenth century church of Sant’Agostino.
